Lori VanWinkle

Lori VanWinkle is one of two House Representatives in District 3, and is an active participant in the grassroots movement in North Dakota to preserve conservative values in policy and culture. She has been a realtor in Minot for three years and earned the honorable Rookie Realtor Award in her very first year. Lori is an active member of National Realtors Association and the Realtor Political Action Committee (RPAC). Her efforts have helped to raise funds and awareness for legislation protecting home ownership rights. In her occupation as a realtor, Lori sees the pressure North Dakota homeowners face from high property taxes.

She is a strong proponent for eliminating property tax. According to Lori, “Once you pay for your home, it should be yours!” Lori was actively involved in the last two legislative sessions by initiating constructive conversations with legislators regarding many important bills all relating to government overreach, particularly in regard to the government’s response to Covid-19. For the last two years, Lori has been a constant advocate for health freedom and understands the importance of protecting the hard-won liberties that make America the greatest country in the world.

Lori is passionately pro-life. She urged North Dakota legislators to fight for life by voting for SB 2030 which barred universities from receiving academic state funding if they collaborated with abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood. She was at the Capitol the day SB 2030 passed into law and was able to celebrate the victory with many others who were also there to stand for life.

Lori will never waver in her stance on the biological definitions of male and female. She lobbied on behalf of HB 1298 which advocated for fairness in women’s sports by banning males from competing in female-only sports. She will continue to fight for the rights of women in athletics and against the toxic influence of Gender Theory in all areas of society.

Lori is recognized as a leader in the community for her commitment in real estate, in civic engagement, and in her church. Her leadership abilities led her to coaching youth sports for many years as well as college-level soccer. However, her most important roles are being a wife to Christ VanWinkle and mom to Lexi, Luke, Laney, and Liam. Lori is widely supported by District 3 members to run for House Representative. Minot District members in 5, 38, and 40 also know of Lori’s strong moral compass and her passion to stand for our unalienable rights and liberties. Her foundational faith in the Lord will inform every one of her decisions as a lawmaker.
